It was dark...
Everyone was focused straight ahead...
And then suddenly...
As if it couldn't get any darker..
BOOM!!!
*FLASH*
This was how it all began.
A group of us were at the Mall last Monday, February 6th to celebrate Kevin Cheng's B'day. We decided to watch Pink Panther 2 which was screening at 2pm that day.
For most of us, it was our first time watching the movie and were looking forward to it... well except for Jac who watched it before. A good friend that he is, he still joined us for the movie nonetheless. So as we bought our tickets and got into theater 1, we were all set to watch the movie.
About 10 minutes into the movie, there came a scene where Inspector Closeau (Steve Martin) detects something fishy about his commanding officer's office. He pulls out a "surveillance detecting pen" and discovers that the very room they were in was being watched and their conversation recorded.
OH NO!!! =O.
He then flings his pen like a throwing knife and hits dead center onto a CCTV camera he found hanging in the corner, and at that very moment...
BZZZOOMM!
The entire cinema goes dark (darker than usual), the film stops rolling and then just as suddenly, the emergency lamps turn on. Wondering for just a moment whether the blackout was part of the movie, we were all dead blur on our seats looking around the cinema, trying to figure out what happened. We stayed in our seats, hoping that maybe the movie would start playing again.
Coming to our senses that the movie won't be rolling again, we made our way out of the theater to check what was going on. It turns out that the entire Mall had a major blackout. Instead of getting our refunds for our tickets, we decided to wait it out a bit longer to see if the movie would run again.
And after regaining our composure so as not to have another panic attack, we settled down...
Then about 10 minutes into the blackout, as we looked upon the horizon to the foodcourt...
BZZOOM!!!
THERE WAS LIGHT!!! Light flashed from left to right, sweeping across the stalls. And just as suddenly as it came, the power went out again =__="". wth indeed~
If that wasn't enough, suddenly as we were all leaning against the railings....
WTF IS THAT!!! Out from the ceiling, huge giant plastic canvas sheets descended upon us and those who weren't lucky got their heads bumped >.<
At the end of this "traumatizing" experience, the power finally came back on after about a half hour of blackout. Our movie was rescheduled for 3.50pm and so we decided to catch it again, no extra charge thankfully.
Talk about an interesting birthday experience for Kevin Cheng HAHAH! Surely one that he'll remember...
And I'm sure he's not the only one who will remember that day...
Jac's another one too. Cause not only did he get to watch Pink Panther 2 twice...
He, technically, watched it 3 times...
HAHAHAHA!!! Happy Birthday Kevin Cheng =D!!!
