Anyway, back to the main point, notice something different about my blog?

www.chengjie16.blogspot.com now has a new layout!!!

I've searched high and low, experimented with new things I never knew of, and messed around with HTML coding (Programming, something I actually really dislike >.<), just to find the perfect blog layout that would suit my liking and I hope, yours too. I have a few people to thank during the course of finding the perfect layout. Firstly to Ms. Tan Pei Wei =D, for the help and advice in finding the perfect layout, as well as editing one herself, for this blog. And secondly, to Jinsona, the designer of this layout. It is indeed an amazing layout. I throw my hat off to you both.

There are still a few coding glitches here and there, so please do bear with me while I work on it. I am currently swamped with work, but I thought that this blog needed an update urgently. So don't worry, I'll fix those bugs soon (One of the bugs being the menu tabs above... they don't actually do anything so don't bother clicking on them).

With a new layout, comes yet another new song from none other than... Shaneel.

Following, True by Ryan Cabrera, this is yet another acoustic-like song, but with a splash of R&B to it.

So my dear readers, I present to you, Shaneel's version of With You by Chris Brown.

Shaneel comes up with yet another superb recording of his own rendition of a popular artist's song.

All the music you hear in this recording was performed by Shaneel himself. Vocals getting better and better with each new recording, this one is no exception to the amazing melody that is Shaneel. Showing originality and real emotions in this recording our budding artist yet again sets himself apart from the rest.

Well Shaneel decided to tackle one very famous love song, which happens to be one of my personal all time favourites.

Now if you've heard True before, you would notice the awesome guitar accompaniment that in my opinion, is what sets this song apart from others.

It is indeed a hard song to learn on guitar (well in my opinion at least as I crashed and burned at attempting it), but that didn't stop our budding artist from trying.

This is Shaneel's first take at recording a purely acoustic song, with nothing but his awesome vocals and the accompaniment of the guitar.

The simplicity of the acoustic set up of the song pulls through so well, that it intensifies the actual grip it has on its listeners. The smooth riffs of the guitar played entirely by Shaneel himself together with the flowing melody of the artisit's voice, they merge together, hand in hand coming together to create yet another amazing song.

If you're listening to the song right now (hosted in this blog's side bar), you would've noticed that it actually is only about a minute and a half long.

Have no worries dear fans, this is but just a prelude to better things yet to come. A full length recording of this song would hopefully be released sometime in the near future.

...of course I mean flour =__=" What kind of white powder could I be talking about =P

And apples

...And together with some of this and that... you get...

Well a huge mess really o.o, but if you bake them together, you'll get an extremely delicious pastry. What is it? Well I'll get to that part later.


So one evening I noticed this long cardboard box on the dining table.

Hmm... wonder what's that

I wasn't sure what it was till I got closer. When I did, I instantly recognized what it was.


This my friend, is a Corica Pastry box. Within it holds perhaps the most amazing pastry that I have ever tasted!


Well anything with that sign on it must mean that whatever's in it is pretty damn important!

And what was inside it sure damn was. Inside this holds the best apple strudel I have ever tasted, I kid you not.


Upon opening it, the strudel that's so perfect and golden-brown in all its glory, it was as if the apple strudel was radiating a beautiful golden glow T.T

If you've never tasted apple strudel, don't worry. I'll try and fill you in on the exact details of what the best apple strudel tastes like.


Just by looking at it, you can tell how rich it is. Corica is indeed generous with their apple chunks and the cream isn't an exception either.


As you bite into the strudel, the sweetness to it is just perfect. The layers upon layers upon MORE layers of thin, oh so very thin, sugary crispy crust gives the strudel a texture that is to die for.

Oh and don't get me started on the cream filling. It is that simply heavenly cream filling that seals the deal for Corica Apple Strudels. It has just the most amazing taste to it, that can't be associated to anything else on Earth. The buttery smell and taste that hits you as you take a mouthful of the strudel, the sweetness of the caramelized apple chunks that balances so well with the cream, eating it is like going to heaven!



For those of you who doesn't know what Corica is, its a bakery found in Australia that is famous for their pastries, one of which is their apple strudel which I am proud to say, have had the privilege to gratefully devour.

Whats that? How did I get an Australian apple strudel, which clearly isn't sold in Brunei?

=__=" Ofcourse I'm kidding that a FedEx guy delivered it to me. What really happened is that, a friend of my mum's came back from Australia and bought one back for us. Usually whenever a family friend goes off to Australia, we ask them to get us one of Corica's famous apple strudels.

This was my, if memory serves me right, third time eating the apple strudel and I can tell you that it's still the most delicious apple strudel ever.

So if you happen to be in Australia...

You dont have to get me one of those "tourist-y" souvenirs...


All you need to get me, to get onto my "white list" (racial joke not intended here) is...

My deepest and sincerest apologies for the lack of activity in the blogging scene for the past week or so. As most of you know, college life for most Brunei students have just begun and I have been caught up with work and a busy schedule. To my faithful readers, I'm very sorry, but don't delete me from your bookmark list just yet. I won't let this blog die =D



It's been a while since I talked about this topic that has frequently appeared as a main subject in this blog... have no fear though cause he's back!

OMG!!! WHAT IS THAT THING!!!

Jokes aside now, his next piece of work however is no laughing matter.

His newest song is testimony to his talent... no short cuts were taken in creating perhaps in my opinion a very beautiful song.

By far, in my opinion his best piece of work. His vocals on this song are set on a whole new level, but the key component that makes this song just amazing is the raw emotion that emanates from the song like a raging torrent. But everything comes with a price, and emotions like this that ring through this song, I can tell you didn't come cheap for him.

And so without further a due, I present to you...

So it was a Sunday afternoon...

On such Sunday's I'm usually out with my parents for grocery shopping or the sorts.

This particular Sunday we decided to go to Giant at Rimba. Upon parking our car in the parking lot, we made our way towards the main entrance.

Before reaching the entrance, there was this car parked just outside with something out of the ordinary hooked onto it.


Upon closer inspection...

...it turned out to be 2 soft toys. I know that the hook there has it's purpose, but I'm sure that this isn't one of them.

Pushing this aside, I then made my way to the entrance to catch up with my parents. Once inside I turned right.

YES OMG!!! Finally a Jollibee statue with WINGS!!!

I can't tell you how shocked I was to see those wings.

I had to take pictures at every angle I could just to show to you that those wings are real... that this statue INDEED has wings.


Now this statue deserves to be called a Jollibee Champ!
