We've heard from One Republic...
We've also heard from Timberlake himself...
Who's next???
Well here at www.chengjie16.blogspot.com you will be the first to find out!
Now, if you were in the same class or perhaps in the same school as Shaneel, during those times after school or at times during school hours o.o ...you would probably hear Shaneel playing on the piano one amazing song that many know of.
Go on, try to figure it out...
Here's a clue, he's not only limited to English songs only...
Oh yes, my friends, think again...
It is with great pleasure and honour to present to you,
Wang Lee Hom
Shaneel's version of Kiss Goodbye by Wang Lee Hom.
When the artist broke to me that he would be singing this for his next song after, What Goes Around Comes Around, I was without a doubt amazed that he dared tackle a Chinese song. For one, considering he's not Chinese and doesn't actually speak the language, he's willing to sing a Chinese Song.
Heck, if I had to talk terrorists out of killing me, and they ONLY understood Chinese, I'd be dead before I could take a breath to defend my life and honour.
Although not native Chinese, Shaneel braves against the language barrier to take on the ropes on Wang Lee Hom's famous love ballad and has produced a simply beautiful song.
A song with such a deep and emotional meaning, he manages to express the raw emotion of the song within his voice, accompanied by the melody of his piano. The simplicity of the composition helps to showcase the song for what it is... as a love ballad that possesses overwhelming love and emotion.
It is after all the melody and the emotion of the song that captures the hearts of the audience. One does not need to understand the lyrics of a song to appreciate what the artist is trying to portray... (And no, this is not my excuse for not understanding Chinese songs =__=").
With that, I leave you to experience the 3rd Instalment to Just My Keys and I, Kiss Goodbye by Shaneel Ruthran Nair...
